Slip Stream shouldn't affect corner check

Post by Crocknuts »

In HEAT the slipstream in BGA seems to be incorrectly adding to the corner check speed.
Online 'how to play' and 'play through' show slipstream is free movement.
Can the game be updated?

Note: Slipstreaming does NOT increase your Speed value for
the purpose of the Check Corner step

It doesn't, but you still have to corner check against whatever speed you are going.

In addition to what RazorOz said, you might also read this thread so you can see that you’re not alone with your misconception: https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46911

Okay thanks. I'll check for this in future games.

Somewhat on the same topic. If you've already passed the corner and apply the boost. Why does this increase the heat for the corner already passed? I'm assuming it should be like hitting nitrous after the apex. Rather than changing the whole move to be higher speed.

corner checks are done in step 7. any boosting is done it step 5, which increases your speed for the turn.

Heat doesn't get that nuanced about when you boost or accelerate. you simply have a total speed for the turn, and check your corner speed limits.

slip stream movement dosnt count to your speed when checkng corners but if u go over a corner via a slip stream you then get checked for that corner during the corner check step
