Rules Clarification: Kinnickinnick

Card allows opponents to draw a card from the deck. My hand size was already at 7 and the game did not make me discard down to 7 after the draw. I started my next turn with 8 cards in hand. By design or game bug?

The rules say:
Hand Limit: After ending your turn, you must discard down to a hand of 7 plant cards
You turn didn't end during opponent's turn, thus I believe it was correct.
