a timed out player

Post by g-ma113 »

Hi, I'm fairly new to BGA and wondering why during a game of Ticket To Ride , another played was timed out by a significant amount and then myself and the other player never got another turn or to finish the game, and the game is still there, just saying 'this particular player has timed out" but nothing happens. Am I supposed to just leave the game as it says not to do that. Would appreciate any help at all please to understand what's going on.

It seems that you were able zo finish the game normally, after all. :)

When a player times out, you can "skip their turn", which temives them from the game as if they had quit. Everybody else shares a win and the timed-out player receives a karma penalty. Or you just continue playing. Your choice.

It's certainly not normal for someone on a real-time table to suddenly go an hour into minus and then come back but your example shows that it can happen. Emergencies, more pressing matters than an online board game, ... Of course if it happened to me, I'd write something in the chat and propose to change the table to turn-based.
