why reveal gold and role in saboteur?

Hi,
I am use to play saboteur (2) on a table, and we never reveals where the gold was or who was a sab or else.
here I have the feeling that it is common, which I think ruin the whole strategy game. because once the gold is revealed the diggers just have to run there and forces the sab to be not subtle and thus reveal him self, that makes it close to impossible to win.
maybe we could add a option when creating a games where the game admin could specify if it is acceptable to reveal or not.

When we play at home, we also never discuss whether it was gold or not when you have a map. However, I don't think it changes anything; just another element of the game. You can lie or not, when asked, so it doesn't really give anything away. Or, just don't answer, though some folks will probably then assume you are a saboteur. I've never had anyone ask my role, though.
