Bugs in game

I sat watching another players time run out then got a message I didnt take my turn...

That’s not a bug with this game; it’s a bug with the site. It can happen in any real time game… basically, your browser gets disconnected from the servers and doesn’t realize it. So it becomes your turn and you don’t know it.

If you see somebody who was playing regularly suddenly start to time out, it’s best to hit F5 then because it may be you…

That’s not a bug with this game; it’s a bug with the site.

I would like to add that this bug can occur even if you have a good internet connection. I've had the bug occur even when other sites load and operate normally, making it less obvious that I've been disconnected from BGA. Although I do not know what causes it.

Of course, sometimes the issue is your internet connection, which has happened to me too. But that is not the only cause.

I've also had to refresh my game twice to have it connect me back to the server, when my wifi was working on other sites. So one refresh is not always sufficient to ensure that you're connected to BGA properly.

The really curious thing about it is, I was in a 3p game the other day and it seemed like on e of the other players had suddenly stopped playing, so I put in the chat “Are you still there?” And both of the other players immediately replied “yes, it’s your turn!” I refreshed and it was indeed my turn. So you aren’t fully disconnected; chat still works. It’s just the game that disconnects…

Yep this has happened to me several times. It even kicked me out of the game because it claimed I "didn't take my turn". So now when it's looking like the player before me is "not playing" I refresh to make sure it isnt the website flaking out on me. It's clearly not based on my internet service bc I can have zero issues with anything else on my wifi but this site will just spaz out.

How I can usually tell is the timer completely stops for whoever turn it is, and trying to click on anything like a profile or options either does not respond or I get a red error at the top of screen (which I wish stayed up longer or was larger for mobile..)

But yes, this happens not just in this game but in quite a few other games I've played which is why I'm struggling to keep my rep above 50 which is quite embarrassing for me because I'm not purposely trying to ditch the game and I am not on another tab or not paying attention. I'm paying close attention to the game but my game time will time out on me because I don't realize it's my turn unfortunately.

Of course, the ways I've listed that I am able to tell may not work for everybody and I do play on mobile which can be a little more cumbersome sometimes.. especially the tutorials, I wish the websites and all games were a little bit more. Mobile friendly because I'd unfortunately do not have a PC to use. I'm wondering though if I switch it into desktop mode if that would help. However, I used the app installed on my phone instead of using my Chrome browser so that wouldn't work for me. But I can try playing in Chrome and see if desktop mode works a little better.
