How to unlock the goal spaces?

Post by SimplicatusGames »

I played solo and got to the end. Not necessary with luck as some say, just manage your energy and the lions. You don't need luck to draw the lion cards at the right moment if you're always ready for them.

My question is how to unlock the goal spaces (with padlocks on them). There's no explanation below, so it's more than a bit annoying to get to the end and be stuck there...

I've said it before; Why release games and announce them on the front page without a proper rules summary below so it's easy to start playing? Clicking links shouldn't be necessary, and based on the other comments, those links aren't even correct anyway.

There has always been one correct link to the rules, and the wrong one have been removed recently. There’s also a very good tutorial linked now. I agree that the launch wasn’t done well.

It seems that you haven’t placed elephants on all landmark spaces (the purple ones). Whenever you have all spaces of a certain landmark covered, the landmark icon on the tile gets a green checkmark. It’s of course ok when your elephants are removed later, the checkmark remains. At the same time, the symbol of the same landmark with a red X mark on the goal tile vanishes. Once all of this has happened with the last landmark on the map, the spaces you’re talking about are unlocked.

Thank you very much for replying and explaining! I figured it out meanwhile. It would be so simple to add a short description below, and I'm surprised that BGA still doesn't incentivise this by offering gift points for writing explanations in the same way as for making tutorials and for translation of that very text, once it has been written!

Also it should be a requirement to have all info completed before launch, not just expected the community to figure it out.

There's a huge difference between ufm volunteering to implement traditional card games that are quietly released, and a publisher launching a new game on the front page in order to promote sales of the physical version. And there is a huge difference between BGA 10 years ago and now. My expectations for supporting info is similarly different.
