I want to understand "Subscribing" to a specific game...

This is my understanding. I would love for someone to correct me if I'm not getting something:

If I "Subscribe" (by clicking the bell icon for a specific game), then I will then get a little pop-up notification when someone is looking for players for that game.

I have seen this function, I have clicked on alerts, and got into games without issue.

Other times, I've tried this, and it does not work at all. For example, I was showing this functionality to a friend, I had them "subscribe" to a game, then I created an invitation, to show them that pop-up. However, such a pop-up never showed for them.

This made me wonder if I'm missing out on potential games as well.

Is this how subscribing to specific games is supposed to work? Am I missing a detail that would shed light on the inconsistency I've seen?

The bell system works for real time games. You may have tried a turn based game. Or not all games have the bell system. Only lesser played games have it
