Monochrome Board/ Grey Wall Variant Strategy

Post by annnels »

I find playing Sumer Pavilion monochrome board to need different strategy than the regular Azul, Summer Pavilion colored side.
Any strategy tips for winning Sumer Pavilion Monochrome Board?

I just saw my opponent create a purple star in the middle and filled up 1, 2, 3, 4 of all the stars with different colors. That could be a viable strategy.

It is. An alternate strategy is green, purple, 1,2,3. A similar strategy does in fact work on both versions of the game. However, I find that you need to be more careful with the monochrome board about preventing your opponent from gathering enough tiles to complete purple, 1,2,3,4. The increased flexibility of the monochrome board tends to increase the likelihood of this strategy being successful.
