Ahoy!
The two expansions are coming to BGA shortly, and will need their own translations.
From the limited info that I could get, it seems that the French publisher of Ahoy, Matagot, is not going to translate the expansions into French due to the limited commercial success of Ahoy in France (if this info is incorrect, I'll be glad to be corrected!). So the expansions, and particularly the faction names, will never get an official French translation, and BGA translators will have to agree on something.
Leviathan is obviously "Léviathan"
Coral Cap Pirates can simply be "Pirates du Cap Corail"
Blackfish Brigade is much less obvious. In French Orcas are "orques" or apparently "épaulards" (although I confess that I discovered that word on wikipedia just now). They also belong to the order of "cétacés". None of these words make for a nice alliteration with "Brigade". "Escouade épaularde" sounds nice but it is confusingly close to ""Escadrille écailleuse", which is what the bluefin squadron is called.
Shellfire Rebellion is also difficult. I guess it is a play on artillery firing shells and turtle shells. I doubt there's a way to translate that since the two words for shell are completely different ("obus" and "carapace"). Turtles are "tortues" in french but also "chéloniens" (another word that I just discovered on wikipedia). So I propose "Rébellion Chélonienne" which sounds similar to the English name, and has a nice ring to it.
I'd like to hear your ideas, even if just for fun. Maybe we also have a similar issue with other localized versions of Ahoy?
