Practice, study, watch strategy videos, read strategy guides, watch game replays of high-rated players, become familiar with the deck and which cards are better than others.
It takes a lot of time and effort to be excellent at a game like Wingspan.

Yes, that is for sure. Some master it in less than 400 games while others like me it may take 4000 games

You forgot: read the several threads already in this subforum asking and answering the same question and giving feedback on how specific games were played, including "Beginner tries to improve - Any help welcome" that's still on the front page of the subforum and is 6 pages long.

WingspanGod clearly already had experience playing before creating this account, so 400 games is no longer such a high number to reach the master (actually it took him 220 to reach master).
It is also important to consider how much time it takes to analyze each of the games. In my experience, turn-based games against good opponents, where you carefully think through every action, teach you from 5 to 15 times more than regular real-time games.

When i started for me it really helped to watch the games from the best players on bga. I first thought what i would do and then looked what the pro player would have done. If they did something different then i would do, i would analyze why they made a different choice and try to learn from that. Also you can always try to ask good players for some advice/tips, most often they will provide some insights
Also like Andrei said i had a lot of experience before creating this account, after a certain amount of games i start seeing patterns. There are a lot of (minor) mistakes players made during a game which is giving me the upper hand even when my start sucks. 1 obvious mistake which a lot of decent/good players avoide is hunting when opponent got a Vulture or something like that. 1 food has way more value then 1 hunting point.
Playing a lot of games is not a guarantee for getting very good because there are also players who play 5000 games and are still around 400/500 elo but it really helps getting better.
Also i only play turn based games so i can really analyze the shit out of each move, i suck in real times games and that also one of the reasons why winning arena is hard for me because you can only play real time game in the end of the season. I now got a good streak but if i am unlucky and don't start with a cheap water bird or opponent has crow tuck combo i can also loose some games in a row and be back in the 600 elo range in no time. Wingspan is still much more luck depent then a game like ark nova for example and a 500 elo player can easily win from me if they have a decent start and i got nothing

Excellent advice, WingspanG0D.
One important note is that for many games, the top players are very willing to be transparent about their strategies, at least to some extent. Which means the top players generally aren't worried about losing their high-rated status by giving free helpful advice to lower-rated players looking to improve.
The predators/vulture scenario is a crucial example. One of the worst this a player can do in this game is to give an opponent a food in return for a hunting point. As noted, a food is worth way more than a point. Giving an opponent food for a hunting point is just giving away games.
Slightly off topic, but, yeah, the last 5 days of Arena season are brutal for me. I also have to just sit back and watch because I cannot play real time.
It's frustrating to not be able to play fast-turn based in the final 5 days for games that typically end the same day they start when played fast turn based.
