*** is a cheater.

Post by hagg4224 »

There is currently a player using cheats in Arena Mode.
In matches against top-ranked players, he finishes solving almost every 20s puzzle extremely quickly.
On the other hand, in matches against lower-ranked players, he spends a surprisingly long time on very simple puzzle boards.
To help keep Arena Mode fair and enjoyable, I recommend that everyone give him a negative rating and avoid matching against him.

The forum post subject has been edited due to its malicious nature.

Numerous instances of fraudulent behavior have been observed in his replays.
While replays should normally display the parts in the order they were placed, he instantly registers that all parts have been placed, and the replays do not show the placed parts.
He claims, "I told you, I do one calculation per attempt. If I can't figure it out, I just give up. Isn't that perfectly normal?"

As the game's developer, I can confirm this and provide more details.
This player discovered a bug that allowed them to use the browser's debug console to fake a win and force the game to send the same command to the server as if they had solved the puzzle.
When doing this, the solution sent was empty... and this case wasn’t handled, so it was accepted as a valid solution.
I’m truly sorry about this; the player has been reported and the exploit has been fixed: attempting to use the exploit now results in a game over and displays a message to the player stating that their attempt to cheat has been detected. I hope the player enjoyed that little surprise last night.
