Because I went to a hospital for a week, several Can't Stop games were blown, and my reputation, which was 100%, is now in the gutter. I can't even explain to my opponents, because how bad my reputation is. How can I talk to a higher-up people to explain? Thank you.

You're not the first person that this has happened to, and you won't be the last.

Just return to playing games, your reputation will gradually come back. I've seen reputations restore from worse than where yours is.

Yes, a few people might not want to play you while your karma score is low, but plenty of others will - particuarly if they've green-thumbed you from past experiences.

They need to change the way the reputation system works. Something like decreased loss of reputation when the offenses happen consecutively would be good, as it would prevent the cases like yours.

The whole point of the reputation system is that it tells you who to avoid. This doesn't work as intended when someone's reputation is in the gutter because of something unexpected that happened in their life, meanwhile people who occasionally ruin games for nefarious reasons may still have a good reputation because the system is too lenient with those kinds of offenders.

I agree the current system needs improvement (I would suggest decreasing the maximum number of games a player can join every time they time out) but allowing a player to reduce penalties on multiple games will allow for more abuse.

I would be in favour of allowing time jokers to be used retroactively to reduce the penalty for games a player has timed out on. That makes more sense to me than having a full table at 4 moves per day suddenly stop midgane because one player used a time joker and everyone else has no choice in the matter.

As I said in the other thread, BGA management prefers "one size fits all" solutions. And these solutions hurt regular players while creating only minor hiccups for abusers. I bet that the player, that you mentioned, is not even irritated by the karma system and considers it a small payment for his fun activity. And all honest players just engage in some rituals that only prove that the system doesn't work, but they still have to jump through hoops. Red thumb player after three consecutive wins for two weeks to avoid Elo penalty, "play" 50 one minute sessions of some short game to restore your karma, etc.

Any rigid "one size fits all" solution will either hurt honest players or allow abuse or both. The system has to look for patterns. If someone regularly plays x games simultaneously and then times out on similar to x amount of games once, than it's probably a sign of emergency. If someone usually plays x games simultaneously and then joins and times out on 10x games and does this again and again, then it's clearly a sign of bad behavior.
