Am I in the Arena instead of Real Time?

Today I tried to start a game of TTR and the player who accepted just said "PLAYER 2" with NO STATS or country or anything... Tried three times, same result.
I've always played a turn-based game and I prefer to play with players close to my level. Why does that look different? Did I hit a wrong button and went into the "Arena" section by accident? How do I get out of it if this is true?

Do you search for games from the game page or the "play now" page? If you didn't already, use the play now page and at the top there are 3 menus where you can choose simple or arena game, real time or turn based and manual or automatic selection of tables

There is no Arena instead of Real-Time. Real-Time vs Turn Based is one option, Simple Game vs Arena is a second independent option.
You may well have changed the Game Type option into Arena, but it's seperate from the RealTime option.
