Ace of Spades removed?

Post by tpepple »

Has Ace of Spades been removed from BGA? I just played it again this morning (June 8) and now it's nowhere to be found.

Just to confirm, I do not see it either. Never played, but I vaguely recall something with that name and a big spade in the image recently.

Presumably someone determined it either wasn't ready for alpha or there was an issue with licensing. Or they wanted a private alpha and mistakenly made it public for a few days.

Edit: I see the designer is excited for it to come to BGA, so it's not licensing, well, unless the publisher threw a wrench into things:

Hey!

Sorry about that! We decided to move Ace Of Spades back to a private Alpha for a while. The game is still evolving, and we'd like to keep refining and polishing the BGA version before opening it up to a wider audience.

We really appreciate everyone's interest and enthusiasm for the game. Ace Of Spades will return in the future with an even better version for everyone to enjoy.

Be patient... Lord Overkill is waiting for you! 🤘

GTK. Having played it a couple dozen times over the last week, I can confirm it played very smoothly and was a very intuitive interface. Thanks for all your work.

Thanks for confirming that, as a BGA dev of AoS I'm glad you were enjoying it 😇

I was testing the Alpha before it was removed, any chance to testing it even if it's close?
Many thanks in advance!

I've got table 863373454 that when I hit next game it keeps trying to take me there and then tells me the table doesn't exist. Been getting that error since the game was removed. I can't see any way to exit the game, but it keeps trying to take me back to it.

I played one game and was very impressed. very smooth. I have the box version just BGA is a great way to play. If there is anyway to be in the private alpha I'd love to.
