Question for strategy in monochrome board

Post by Culdok »

* Center star is purple, but it can be changed.

1. There are two strategys.
A. 1 Center star + 2 outer stars + 1s,2s ×4
1) Tiles Cost : 72(=18×1+21×2+3×4)
2) Bonus Tiles : 14(=1×6+2×1+3×2)
3) Needed Tiles : 58
4) Score : 107+2 stars' score(=21×3+3×4+4+8+20+2 stars' score)
* I usually choose one of 2 outer stars by multicolor stars.

B. 1 Center star + 1 outer star +1s,2s,3s ×5
1) Tiles Cost : 69(=18×1+21×1+6×5)
2) Bonus Tiles : 11(=1×6+2×1+3×1)
3) Needed Tiles : 58
4) Score : 116+1 star's score(=21×2+6×5+4+8+12+20+1 star's score)

A. can gain more score then B. when 3 stars are
Purple / Multicolor / Green or Orange or Yellow.
But A. is more risky because it needs 3 more bonus tiles. (They can be denied by opponent)

Do you think that risk of A's higher than the potential of score?

2. I thought 1st player tile's value is simliar with 2 tiles. How do you think about 1st player tile's value?
