BGA Survey - do questions get beta tested?

I was rather disappointed with the BGA Survey.

A number of the questions felt purposely limited in responses and Other options offered no context via free text for further understanding.

Questions around monthly and yearly subscriptions only had a number pad on my mobile so I could only type whole numbers and no characters allowed because of that. Also no specification of the country of payment (dollars, yen, pounds sterling etc), so maybe they will apply that based on country of the device location?

Also disappointed that they clearly are looking to introduce ads and then make money by charging to hide them.

It talked of growth at the start of the survey, which I took to mean more players, but focus seems to be on maximising payments, although advertising questions were asked.

Shame as this could have been a richer set of answers to their questions. Oh well.

1) Running a website costs money.

2) Maximizing profits is literally the purpose of a for-profit company.

Yes, I’m not blind to that purpose of business.

My point was that the survey seemed to promise an interest in growing their user base but in the end seems to relate to just maximising spend of those already here.

Those two thigs are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
Perhaps the website is overburdened by the current number of members, and to expand requires additional resources and revenue.
We have seen various server issues recently during which game creation and completion was a major issue. Considering how inexpensive a membership is - a few dollars a month - perhaps there simply i not enough revenue to further expand the player base without finding additional revenue streams.

I'm just speculating; I know nothing about the internal finances of the company, but in general, expansion of a company requires revenue, right?
