Exiting Corners

Post by Gary Cuba »

Sorry if this has been posted before... but - here are the rules as written:

"when coming out of a corner the car may not change lanes, but must stay in the same lane. If the move ends in another corner, this stop does not count for the new corner..."

Is there an option to switch this off? Because the game seems to allow lane changes and the stop does count.

After some testing I have found the following:
The game allows for lanes changes whilst coming out of the corner. The games rules state you should not.
The game DOES count corner stop, if you travel from corner to corner. HOWEVER, it DOESN'T count, IF you fly over the last corner without stopping at all. This is 1st edition rules (Formula De). So, I guess my question is, why?

The part you are quoting is in the section titled “Overshooting” and thus I take it to mean that these things apply when you overshoot a corner. Thus, when you overshoot a corner, you may not change lanes coming out of the corner, and when you overshoot a corner and land on a new corner, then it doesn’t count for the new corner.

There’s plenty of other places in the rules they could have put this stuff if it was meant to always apply; putting it in the “Overshooting” section means to me that it applies only when overshooting.

Which in fact is consistent with what you found in your testing.
