How does Arena voting timing work?

So, 7 days ago, we got a message in Arena saying:
Season 25 will end in 2 weeks' time! Don't forget to suggest and vote for your favorite Arena formats before the final voting starts in 1 week!
Remember that the final voting is between the current format and the most highly voted suggestion.
Today we get a message saying:
With your votes, you decided as Gurus to keep the current Arena format for next season. Thank you!
Is it just that, not enough votes for suggestions so there was no final voting? (None of the other options were positive.). I guess I misunderstood the "Remember" part.

Arena vote has 2 phases:

1. Choose proposition with most votes that goes to next phase.
2. Proposition chosen in phase 1 compete with current arena season setting in final vote on settings for next arena season.

Looks like in your case current settings won in phase 1 so in this game settings for next season are decided already.

Yes, but the OP is right. This makes no sense. I received the same two messages. "Final voting begins in one week", and then, before any final voting (which usually remains open until the end of the season), "With your votes, you have decided ...."

What happened to the actual final voting? I never had a chance to vote.

In the other game for which I am a guru, the final voting is still open (as it should be, since the final voting just began.)

Maybe for the first game, nobody made any format change suggestions, and so "keep the same" won by default without the need for a final vote?

Where do people receive those messages? I received nothing and only found out I was a guru a few days ago when coincidentally checking the community page, which I usually never use.

Seems to be it. The voting has definitely been open for me since I found the page. Probably no one created a suggestion or voted for it in the game you're talking about. But you still should have been able to vote for the default "keep the current format" option.

My profile picture was blinking red and I had a notification that there was a message on the guru page.

Maybe you became a guru after the message?

Who would be the opposition, if none of the options could even get more than 0 votes?

I'm going with this being a factor.

I never got anything like that in my notifications.

Everyone becomes a guru at the same time, I think.
