Translation for Luthier: do not translate placeholders for icons

Post by Thomas »

The text templates for Luthier seem to have some special placeholders that get replaced by icons/images. As far as I understand (please correct me, if I‘m wrong), these placeholders should not get translated, as otherwise the replacement would not work.

Instead of the usual placeholder format ${placeholderName}, Luthier uses *words* inside asterisks, for example:
*METL*, *VP*, *vp*, *string*, *lira*, *insp*, *app*, *patron* or *percussion* …

I have seen that some translators have translated these icon placeholders, probably because they are used to translate text between asterisks, as most other games use asterisks to start and stop formatting the text as bold.

I have told the coder about the issue and hopefully there will be no more instances of this issue in the future.
