Stone Age hut placement over 10 people

Post by bobo10 »

I suggest the addition of a confirmation box when you place your couple on the hut and you already have 10 people warning that you won't receive more people. It would be a good reminder for beginners and distracted turn based gamers! :D When you discover later that you have to skip the action and throw away 2 people for this turn because you didn't notice your people were maxed out, or you didn't noticed the rule at all, is very bad!

But thats the point of the game. You should be focused enought to realize it on your own.

another choice might be to allow a higher limit.but why not a warning,it would be less duplicitous.

Allowing a higher limit would conflict with the published rules. BGA's licensing agreements prohibit that. The only solution I see that is within the rules is to have a display showing how many meeples everyone has left that are not in play.

Besides, if I know that an opponent has all 5 of the "Score x number of people" cards, and it is the last round, using 2 of my meeples to prevent them from gaining an additional 7 points may be a good strategy for me.

If a player has to waste 2 people in order to prevent a single opponent from getting a relative low level of VP then they certainly are making the wrong move 99.99% of the time.

If a player did that in F2F game I'd certainly mention to them their insanity. :ugeek:

I've never claimed to be sane.... :?

I think it comes down to a preference of play. I tend to play that if the information is easily available by looking at the board situation, then there is no need for a warning. But, then the discussion becomes what is meant by "easily available." Should Takenoko prompt when one is about to take the "get a new task card" option if no cards of a certain type are available?

But, yes, I can see where it would be nice to have a counter of how many total people one has, or a display of how many are left to be brought out.
