No longer possible to bypass ELO minimum with invite?

Hello BGA! I recently created a handful of tournaments, and it was only after creating some of them that I realized that when creating the tournament you can remove the ELO minimum to allow anyone to play. However, for one of my tournaments that has the ELO minimum set to 100, I would like to invite a new player to join, but BGA won't let me invite that person because their ELO is too low.

It is my understanding that it used to be possible to bypass the ELO restriction for tournaments by inviting players directly; did that change with the recent tournament overhaul? If so, is it possible to change the tournament settings after the tournament has been created but before it starts? Thank you!

There is still a way to invite low Elo players, but it requires jumping through some hoops. First set up the tournament as private. Then copy the invite link that is generated and save it somewhere. Then switch the tournament to public. The invite link will still work for players with Elo < 100.

You can edit a tournament as long as no one (including yourself) has registered.

Ah, unfortunately the tournament is already public and has other people registered. Thanks for the workaround though, it'll be good to know for the future!
