Invector was inspired by the ancient Hawaiian game of Kōnane, also known as Hawaiian Checkers.
True to the spirit of Kōnane, Invector is played on a rectangular board initially filled with a checkerboard pattern of black and white stones. And like Kōnane, Invector has short range captures and is extremely simple.
GOAL Annihilate your opponent.
PLAY Either move to capture an orthogonally adjacent enemy stone, or move one of your own stones orthogonally one space closer to center (Manhattan distance). [Invector uses the pie rule for balance.]
