Red thumb question

Post by NeishaJane »

I am curious how the red thumb system works.

I thought if I red thumbed and said it was my personal opinion that would be kept private and just prevent me from playing with that player again. However, in a recent game the player I red thumbed knew about it and called me out in the chat.
I have never seen a notice about getting a red thumb, so just wondering how you see it.

Also, is it a reportable offence if I tell someone in the chat that I have reported them? In this same chat the person continued having a go at me for the red thumb, so I told them I was reporting it... to which they replied they were reporting me for threatening to report them.
I am curious if I was wrong for saying it. I was recently moderated because I said I found someone's behaviour annoying in the chat (repeatedly predicting the winner is annoying to me, especially if you keep getting it wrong across multiple games and then act like you are the victim if a player has a different strategy - if the person I told this was annoying to sees this, I am sorry this offended you! I didn't realise it was wrong to say - I would say it to my friends, and they would say it to me without any of us taking it personally) ... anyway, I was shocked to be moderated and would have liked to of known that I offended the person at the time. So, telling the player today wasn't intended as a threat it was meant as a heads up that the things they were saying were uncalled for and just because you **** out a swear word, doesn't make it ok.

There's no "official" notification that you have been red-thumbed, but there are signs. Like if you go to a player's profile and don't see their online/offline status, or if you can't join a table becouse "someone" at the table has red-thumbed you.

As for threats and confrontations, just don't engage in any discussion about that. Keep quiet and report offenses.
