Duct tape not working

I had duct tape in my possession. I had contractor with pistol and a taser. I searched tools items and wanted to add fire extinguisher to my hand but was not allowed to click on the duct tape to make use of it - I was only prompted which hand I wanted to empty in order to take the fire extinguisher and place it in that hand. It was very sad. I did survive, but maybe my fellow combat engineer may had also survived if I had that with me

To use ductape, you have to do the Use Item Action.

It would have worked as per your situation if the text was like: Reaction: if you gain another heavy item, use ductape blabla.

Yeah no, doesn’t work like that. You should’ve used it to tape the taser and the pistol first. Then search. So if you get another heavy item, you have had a free hand.
