Clear Path is an orthogonal connection game that's based on a truly magnificent mechanism. The idea is that while you're trying to form your own connecting path, you have to leave a "clear path" open for your opponent to form theirs. I did find a solution in March, but it needed chain reactions - multiple moves per turn. Claude Fable 5.1 simplified and improved my design. Basically, you can block your opponent if by doing so you form a winning path for yourself OR if you make a move that guarantees your victory. Claude figured out that last bit, making the game single placement only. No chain reactions. A few guys attempted this design over the past several years, but no one quite got there. We had to wait for Claude to come along. Now Clear Path is one of those beautiful, obvious-in-retrospect concepts. My favorite kind.
