Colorfield is a two-color, dot-connection game. Similar to Dots and Boxes, but with two colors of line segments - not just one color. Only one move per turn. No chain reactions (and therefore more robust). You claim an area, possibly larger than one unit square, by surrounding it with more segments of your color than of your opponent's color. And then fill in the area with your color.
What happens if you surround an area with the same number of segments as your opponent? Simple. You're not allowed to. And it always works out. Beautiful mechanism.
There's also a 3D option for the more adventurous among us. You don't claim areas. You claim volumes.
