Announcing, the unofficial Quarto tournament.
What makes it unofficial? It is sponsored by me, not by BGA. Therefore, there will be no official BGA prestige for it. There will, however, be bragging rights...
This format is based on about 20 people joining. If a significantly different number join, it may be modified.
The format will be a single-elimination bracket, seeded randomly. If there is a significant number of requests, this may be changed to a double-elimination bracket.
The champion will be decided by a best of 3 series. If more than about 50 people sign up, the semi-finals will be a best of 3 (with each player starting first for the first two games), and the finals will be a best of 5 (with players alternating starting player).
Games should be played as quickly as possible, but will be set up as Turn-based-1 move per day. It will be the responsibility of the individual players to create each table.
There will be 2 classifications, Standard and Advanced (2x2)
Players ranked Beginner or Average may join either (or both) classification.
Good players and above may only join the Advanced classification.
Ranking will be determined at the time of bracket creation.
To enter, just reply to this post saying you want to enter. Entries will be accepted until Edit -- Noon, June 15, 2015 (UTC).
If you want to play in a tournament, but don't like this format, feel free to discuss options. None of these rules are yet set in stone.
