Still a beginner?

Post by Pavvo »

I read that you are a Beginner until you achieve a victory, then you become Average.

I have won a number of games, but am still labelled a Beginner. I can't join Average and above games. :(

Anyone know why?

Beginner denotes two different things. There is a beginner account which you have for the first month, this does not influence your ability to join a game. Then there is beginner rating for each game until you win once at that game. So for the game you want to join, if the requirement is average and above, you need to have won at least once at that game.

And, to clarify one point -- beginner (the ability to join games) is a ranking on a PER GAME basis. So even someone rated master in 60 games on this site, if they have yet to win a game of XYZ, is still listed as a beginner at XYZ.

Ah got it. It's a ranking based on the game. Thanks.
