most likely it is because it takes so long to match that if you step away the game can start....and the game is abandoned. the player who was late makes it back to the desk but the game is forfeited or abandoned already. The fact that In some tables, there are 3 players with High ELO and one who is a begginer, makes the game unfair for the player who gets the begginer as a partner.
