I think if you want to claim a game is random or not, it's good to look at the elo distribution. In games with less luck the highest elos will be higher. The number of players can factor into this too, but luck is a bigger factor. If you want to see a game that's almost completely luck look at Senet...

I let them be and don't mind it as long as they don't time out.

BGA does keep stats such as average game score for a game. They don't really impact anything but some people might care about them.

I've been running into a few players lately who have this same mindset - that people playing one action are slowing down the game too much. One even 'punished' the other players who had played one action at a time on the final turn by dragging out the time to play their final greenery after the game...

Just wanted to add that I have also started experiencing intense lag on TM since about a week ago. Before then it was fine. I haven't found a solution yet either.

Outside of TM (playing other games on BGA) it's been fine. Although I haven't played any other more complex games recently.

What exactly do you get for second....meaningless points, or less lost points on a website? Arena is literally the part of the site where points matter. This is really my only complaint with the game.

It is just an annoyance, but every single person who plays this game will run into this annoyance. So it feels weird to me too to see that this was vetoed by the publisher.

I'd say one strategy element that is not super obvious starting out is understanding the tempo of the game. Some wonders like to rush the end, some like to prolong the game. From the initial wonders your opponents get you can probably get a sense as to whether you might want to rush, collect points,...

I'd also like to see statistics. Ephesus for me is just usually a wonder rush strategy, and it seems to work pretty well.
