Have a similar situation in an arena game, it also seems the clock gets reset every time a request is sent so it will literally never end.

The weather can also give a 'free' cooldown, so in 2nd gear you'd get 2 (or 3 with adrenaline (

Haven't seen any documentation, but it seems to me that it unlocks the next time you can move a checker.

Conceding ends the entire match, in multi point matches forfeiting may not (e.g. if you concede a single point)

Without any of the power 5, as a starting hand:

Towhee/American crow/barn swallow/ruddy duck (or similar, the yellow throat was used above)

You can get them all down with turns to spare, and you're well setup for the rest of the game.

I love a crow, they're definitely great birds, but they're not automatic wins in and of themselves.

That contrasts to when the Wood Duck was in arena - it was pretty much an instant win!

I thought you had to place first and beat an expert - but that was just because I didn't get the award after beating an expert and coming 2nd.

Click on the "burger" menu at the top right. There's an option to concede.
