Re: Expelling players: why is the game unranked (no ELO)?

Instead of giving a "leave penalty" token (which is no penalty + disappears after some time) I'd just ban a leaver for a specific period of time from ranked games, forcing them to play unranked, if they leave frequently. Therefore I'd make the banning period longer with every leave (for e...

Re: Don't show games you aren't allowed to join.

These sound like good ideas, especially hiding the private games (or giving the table makers permission to hide the games from players not in their exclusive group, or from players not invited in the case where the table is set up to have a specific set of invited players). It may be useful to keep ...

Re: Tzoklin starting tile variation

For discussing game variants, it's probably better to go to the BoardGameGeek forums. If a variant gets enough support, who knows, it might get implemented here (Puerto Rico's Craftsman Angst variant, for example). Now (disclaimer alert) I haven't played much Tzolk'in, but I don't like this idea ver...

Re: Turn-based update: June 23th

I also think knowing when a player has gone over time is useful. Thanks! :) I wonder if it would be better if the 1 hour warning could be changed to a warning with a configurable amount of advance time (say X hours where X could be anywhere from 1 to 12 as determined by turn-based preferences). As i...

Re: TTA: Is game acting wrong, or am I missing a rule?

That first assumption about the blue tokens is correct. Also, Justice System has worked fine when I've played it, although that was in realtime. If it was messed up in turn-based though, surely it would top the bug page. Did you remember to take into account production before the corruption check? T...

Re: Games page - complete the catagories

That's some nice information you have there! Certainly it would be useful to complete the description games by approximate playing time (might give players an idea of whether a game is suitable for trying out). But "number of players" needs changing. I think the reason games like Race for ...

Re: ELO SYSTEM

My new suggestion is to turn on elo system only when you play someone who has rank 20 bigger or lower than you. This way Rank 1 player would be obliged to play only top 20 players to win more elo. And Rank 20 player could play Top 40 players to win or lose elo. This seems fair to me. Sorry, but tha...

Re: Turn-based mode FAQ

How about automating moves when it's common knowledge that one player has exactly one choice of move to make? I know this has been done in 6 nimmt, and could probably shave a lot of time off of turn-based games in other situations. It might be a problem in realtime (suddenly changing the interface m...
