This was know strategy back in the day when I played Red Alert 2 online. Some players might have unplugged their internet connection when they were losing so it would count as a disconnection and not as loss in their statistics.

I enjoy talking about the game and the choices afterwards and I'm glad to hear if there has been a silly mistake or a luck involved that I have missed.
