I don't agree with Voriki 100%: When BGA was created, I don't think they had a War in mind
There have always been wars, it's only that it's now affecting western civilisation that everyobody suddenly notices.
I didn't hear the same complaint with all the wars in Africa or S-America, or in Asia internally.
BGA should stay out of politics. It is a place where people can come to relax, be themselves(within the ToS).

Moreover, if a player hosts a table (Basic/Premium), i think it is his/her right to choose who she/he plays with, even if it's based on nationality (it is a discrimination, yes, but as long as you don't voice out your reason of selection, I don't think it is anyone's business who you want to play with, and who you don't).
I agree, everyone is allowed to make INDIVIDUAL decisions to choose who to play with, and with who you don't.
You can always find a reason to select individual people to expel, such as not enough experience in the game, too many time outs, etc....
But what was requested was the ability to block whole nationalities in an automatic setting. In that case you do voice out your reason of selection auromatically if you go this route. You are also blocking Russian players who do not agree with the war. Russian players who have family in the Ukraine.
I cannot stress this often enough, BGA must stay out of politics.

Your comparisons are pale, IMO... I think this a a hugely different situation than those of discriminating someone who has a different skin colour or different sexual orientation (Russia also has anti-LGBT laws, by the way).
You can't change skin color or sexual orientation, just like you can't change the country where you were born.
Yes, Russia has anti-LGBT laws, but that doesn't mean the people agree with the laws. This whole discussion is actually about the people. They want to block the people for the actions of the country/politicians.
Why should the people always be the victim here?
There are LGBT people in Russia too, and sure some of them are on BGA too, you'd be blocking them too based on the idealogy that you don't agree with their laws.
Or say you are a 420friendly person, would you then block out all nationalities with laws against it? Even if a certain portion of their people do not agree with those laws, and may even do it themselves?
BGA should provide equal opportunities to participate in this community, and judge based on actions of individuals alone.

Also, a question for you: For arguments' sake, if Putin creates a BGA account, and he SOMEHOW makes his username public, would you agree to ban his account if you were ruling this site?
If Putin follow the ToS, respects other players and keeps politics out of his gameplay and community actions, I would gladly play him.
BGA should only judge based on actions under their control.
If BGA would disagree with my answer, then they should ban my account too. I have made mistakes in the past too, did get punished for it already(different than what Putin is doing now, he has yet to receive punishment, and I agree it should be severe). If BGA judges a players account based on real life actions, they may ban my account too.
