I want each and everyone to bring to bear all his best A-game.
If avoiding the auto-pass feature is bringing ones "A game." I'd prefer to take a pass, but we don't have much choice now do we. If using the clock to steal victory is bringing ones "A game," I'd prefer to take a pass on that too. If A player signs up for Basic game (two games) and has no intention of completing the match, I'd rather he play Arena. If A player wants to cry and snivel about dice/cards - I'd like to turn off the Radio.

If all this is your idea of enjoyment have at it. Don't change a thing. I might be a toxic blogger. Toxic gamer, not in the slightest.
Sportsmanship above all.
Easy enough to speak, much harder to practice.

Your sportsmanship is exactly what BGA tells you it is...all in the name of fairness. If cheating was allowed, would you not cheat?

Staying on topic I agree that not knowing if my opponents have the ambush card does not really prevent me from attacking unless I’m attacking with a 1 fig unit and I’m almost positive he has it.
Also once it’s been played and until the deck gets reshuffled there is no longer a need to try and bluff you have the card

Good point.
Players can show any card they wish except the Ambush Card. I'd be glad to show that I have the Ambush card if it would help the flow of the game.

Which is already taken into account in the implementation. You dont get prompted if the card is in the discard, even if autopass is not' enabled for you.

Obviously, everything in it's measure.
I always click auto-pass, and once I have Ambush in hand, in fact I tend to play it at the soonest, so few times will I or my opponent be having long waiting times.

Regarding sportmanship... I recently had the chance to time-skip an opponent who was beating me. But I decided to wait, I think 2 days, until he rejoined and took his turn.

Ended up losing, of couse. He had had some personal issues, so I welcomed him back.

Not quite sure what you would have done for 2 days... having the option to clic the End button to avoid a sure loss... :?:

That was my point exactly. I Don't even consider the clock when playing M44. I mostly play real time...Clock issues might affect my opponent's game play; it rarely affects mine. Good Sportsmanship is not about them, it's about me'.
If cheating was allowed, would you not cheat?
Take a game such as Illuminati, Fun game. they have an optional rule that allows for cheating, as long as you can get away with it. I would never play with that optional rule. Same with the game Diplomacy; It involves lying. I like the game, But I will never play it again. I will never use the clock to my advantage (steal Victory), whether it be tournament game or otherwise. Good Sportsmanship is not about them, it's about me'.

The Dynamics of the game (M44) have changed here on BGA. [some] Players want to engage in Un-sportsman like behavior without having penalties. And if there are no penalties, it must be okay - right. Good Sportsmanship is not about them, it's about me'.

I know for a fact (look at DoW) - Arena would bring the same number of players to the table whether having matched games or not...Possibly bringing more players back to the Basic game match table. Arena would be best adopting DoW M44. It might serve BGA better, having Arena live play only! I know that when I wanted to play live game of M44, there was more than a few readily available on the DoW site...Nothing even close to that here on BGA.

Regarding auto pass button - players will take every advantage - using it to delay the game as to win on time? Is there a better explanation??

I wouldn't even consider to continuing playing if Arena was only real-time.

Modern busy lifes... modern schedules.

Real time is a relic of the past, when websites did not want the costs of hosting storage space.

You want other to play by your tune.

You keep saying DoW M44 promoted one side matches. But on DoW DoW, Richard Borg and the community also preferred to play both sides.

DoW was a thriving community, despite what "DoW, Richard Borg and the community" wanted!
Let DoW speak for itself. "You want other to play by your tune."

Days of Wonder specifically asked us to enforce two ways game for any competitive settings : ranked game and arena.
