Sounds a bit like some kind of Godwin's law... first one to go crassly off-topic, concedes the argument.Col Rosenberg wrote: ↑11 January 2023, 00:43And?Days of Wonder specifically asked us to enforce two ways game for any competitive settings : ranked game and arena.

In my opinion Memoir’44 has a thriving community not despite DoW, Richard Borg and the community but because of DoW (still supporting real life tournaments, supporting this move from the no longer developing online to BGA still making expansions for an 18 year old game) Richard Borg (keeping in touch and making new expansions although he has other newer games too) and the community (taking time and effort to organise real life and online tournaments real life playdays and evenings and/or participating in all of this)Col Rosenberg wrote: ↑10 January 2023, 21:07DoW was a thriving community, despite what "DoW, Richard Borg and the community" wanted! You keep saying DoW M44 promoted one side matches. But on DoW DoW, Richard Borg and the community also preferred to play both sides.
Let DoW speak for itself. "You want other to play by your tune."
This is the Answer you're looking for (unless I'm missing something). This would be a (only?) valid reason for not using auto pass button.Example: Player A making his last attack, resulting in player B having to retreat. Player A is now done with his turn, without drawing new card...Not knowing if his new card is the Ambush card. Thereby Preventing player, A an opportunity to playing his newly (unknown to him) acquired Ambush card (If he were to draw it from the deck) before player B executes his next attack.
Yes, players were Honor bound to play two games...It was still optional, and it worked fine. Here at BGA it is Law, no need for Honor - when quitting is legal. But on DoW DoW, Richard Borg and the community also preferred to play both sides.
Lol, so you are not even trying to understand how bga works before criticizing it.Col Rosenberg wrote: ↑11 January 2023, 00:43And?Days of Wonder specifically asked us to enforce two ways game for any competitive settings : ranked game and arena.

I completely disagree - it never worked fine. SO many of the really good maps weren't played because people didn't want to play a "no chance of winning" side in a match.Col Rosenberg wrote: ↑11 January 2023, 10:14 Yes, players were Honor bound to play two games...It was still optional, and it worked fine. How is that any different here? NO! so just eliminate those Scenario's from the mix just because "people didn't want to play a "no chance of winning" side in a match."I completely disagree - it never worked fine. How do you figure? If you were playing Random, they were being played.many of the really good maps weren't played
Yep, hand tied. Nope, single game wanst even developped at first on bga and was added only in training mode latter.Col Rosenberg wrote: ↑11 January 2023, 14:00 @Tisaac:
Are you telling me your hands are tied? DoW had a popular site run (without support) for ten years and they are forcing BGA to revamp their (DoW's) entire format, the one that worked (profitable) so well for them...Boy, they must have seen you coming! (Wasn't single game play implemented when M44 was first introduced on BGA?)
I'm not trying to argue. I'm simply pointing out the Facts. Arena and the Basic game have the exact same format...Arena is in basic is out. Real-time play is being strangled to death. Random is in, Certain Scenarios are out. M44 has taken a turn for the worse. You mentioned that real-time might pick up in a month or two. You're a Dev it's not going to come to you, you have to make it happen. No worries, (lucky for you) I'm here to take care of you.
Quitters have gone up tenfold since I joined Arena. THIS SHOULD BOTHER YOU!
I'm hoping you develop a heart for this game. Having only played 2 games I don't see it happening.
It is up to you to lead this game and its players into the Promised land.
Thank you for all your hard work. Youve made this game enjoyable, even if it's only for a short while.
Wasn't there a certain issue having to do with a player, who was top player, having played only one-sided matches? I do remember reading it somewhere.single game wanst even developped at first on bga and was added only in training mode latter.
