ELO is a measure of skill. It is not supposed to increase indefinitely. This is why you lose more for losing and gain less for winning if you play against "weaker" opponents. In Hanabi, the "opponent" is the difficulty of the deck. Just be fine with what your elo is and keep finishing games.

So happy to see I'm not the only one annoyed at abandons in Hanabi. I love the game and I love difficult decks. Sometimes you just get a raw deal, and sometimes the people you are playing with lack the experience to navigate it -- so what! That's part of the fun!

You can see the quote of won games when you look to the players' experience on his/her site. For me it is: "2 076 Spiele • 1 937 Siege • 47% Quote". More than 2000 games, ~1900 won games, but the rate says the half. So i would interpretate it is the rate of won games proportional to the started games. And it seems as if I (we) abandon half of the games. I will think about it.

(And hell yes, i should play less 2 players' games (with beginners). :D These 2 player games are so often unlucky. I apologise, but there is no other option to stay on my level if I don't abandon so many games. But I am not the person who alyways abandon if I don't get the full number of points.)

See https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... =3&t=22425. Victories count 0.5 for cooperative games.

No, because tutorial games are also counted as non-victories here.

My actual abandons are in single figures (once after a crucial misclick, otherwise because someone really pushed me), but I have played a lot of unranked games, either teaching or because someone wanted to avoid ELO stress.

Most of my games are 2player/difficult/black powder/no flamboyants. These are the most difficult settings on BGA. Elo is never gained or lost on difficult decks. I should note that we play with the unofficial variant. With it off would be much harder still.

Since elo is always off anyway for these settings, we play on training mode so that the clock is off too. We abandon sometimes if we are simply not enjoying the deck. It's rare that we would abandon because of an imperfect score, because a 28 is a VERY good score for these settings, and harder to get than 30 on avalanche. However each abandoned game does count against win % even on training mode. I think win % doesn't indicate skill whatsoever for hanabi.

If one player doesn't want to finish a game (on ANY reason) and the other one insists on continuing... well,I think there IS some rudeness here. Hanabi is cooperative game, so we should be polite not rude. What a pleasure to cooperate with somebody who doesn't want to cooperate? (And in most cases plays negligently after he was refused.) What a pleasure to play in this case? What for?

If it is a question of fair ELO - ok, I think there is simple decision. Let's abandoning gives -2 (or -5) to both ELOs.

It's a nice idea, but displayed player info is universal for all games on BGA. Changing that for hanabi simply isn't an option.
