This happens about 1% of the time. Given the large number of players and played games I guess it happens many times a day. It's completely
normal.

Yeah, today I have been 1st about half the time, it not more then half. It seems like for a run of games I was 2nd most of the time. Thanks for validation.

No one said you can't type in bold. However, bold text is conventionally used for emphasis:

The most common methods in Western typography fall under the general technique of emphasis through a change or modification of font: italics, boldface and small caps. Other methods include the alteration of LETTER CASE and spacing as well as color and *additional graphic marks*.

If the entirety of text is emphasized with a modification of font, by definition the modification cannot serve as emphasis because there is no longer anything setting it apart.

But my hypothesis is that you don't intend to use it for emphasis and instead you enjoy the attention it attracts by people pointing it out.

The Number of Games as First Player should be displayed in a Player's Statistics.

Even if they did, I still suspect there'd be forum posts where people then just disputed that the statistic was correct. If you really think you're getting a rough deal by being second all the time, and playing on the site isn't fun because of this, then don't play. If you actually think it's a bug and want to improve the site by reporting it for fixing, then do some proper research with a large random sample (like at least 100 games) and show that the chance of going first is significantly different to 50-50 (and raise it as a bug).

It's not BGA rules, it's common standards for how to use different types of text as Meeplelowda said. As they also said, you can type in bold if you wish. But it reflects on you - honestly, typing in all bold or all caps tends to make you appear aggressive, like you're constantly shouting. If you don't care about others thinking that of you, carry on.

You can choose to do whatever you want with your typeface, such as use a jarringly obtrusive color and underscore. If everyone starts doing it across the site, well, welcome to Myspace circa 2004.

There is no contradiction. No one has yet said you cannot use bold. They have pointed out that it is unconventional. You are responding to an argument no one made.

I'm not the one who started criticising how I write.

Listen, you do you. You can be as "eccentric" as you want, but it doesn't make you immune from people calling it out. Like I said, I think you enjoy the attention, so I blame myself for engaging in this instead of using the forum tools available to block it.
