BGA desperately requires some amendment to its ludicrously harsh and unreasonable system of letting people be kicked for being "out of time" and then, to make it worse, penalising with heavy "karma" hits that are painful to recover from.
1. I'm in Australia. I set Arena to "slow", so I should have 24 hours for each turn. But I don't! If the other players are in another timezone, they do their moves overnight and my time runs out before the end of the game. I was timed out of a game today despite having had a turn less than 24 hours before.
2. When you're playing through your turns, they don't go to the one closest to being timed out, they go to the most recently played game. I cannot find any option to set it to go to the game closest to being timed out. It is absurd there is no option for this.
3. There is no option to limit games to your own region.
4. The karma hits as penalties for the above are brutal. If you get hit with several games at once you can instantly be whacked all the way down to where you can only very slowly, ONE KARMA POINT AT A TIME, build back up to the point where you can even start or join games again.
The above is even more obnoxious when you consider that this is a PAID SERVICE and you can, through no real fault of your own, be locked out of a service you pay a subscription for. It doesn't pause while you're locked out with low karma, you're just missing out on what you've paid for.
It's really urgent that BGA
(a) implement an option to have the next game when you're clicking through them be the one where you've got the *least* remaining time, or where you had your last term the longest ago;
(b) let people set the region for games
(c) make it clear what the timeframes for games mean - apparently the "one move a day" option doesn't actually mean you get 24 hours to make a move, which is pretty counter-intuitive and also not what people want when they specifically select "one move a day"
(d) review the karma system so penalties for timeouts are not so utterly brutal and hard to repair.
