My point was AI arts are cheaper, but can be bland ad forgettable and arts made by artists can be very on point but with an increase in cost.
And depending on the budget and the target public,both are viable options.

I personally cant support games that use printing/photocopying technology. Drawing every single card by hand increases artists employability by 50000%, which is the truly the most important issue in boardgaming. Screw you, Gutenberg.

Everyone remember to give the OP 100 Internet points and a pat on the head for virtue signaling how much better they are than you for not supporting AI bla bla, since their vocal proclamation that they won't support AI art in a board game in an online implementation is an extremely important, solemn, and praiseworthy endeavor in the current world climate. We can only hope to attain to the OP's level of wholesomeness and better-than-you-ness that they have obviously achieved. We are in awe.

I don't like those new fangled horseless carriages. Think of the buggy whip makers they are putting out of business.
Yeah what good does it do to complain about progress. It takes a toll but in the long run it gives us wonderful things.

But when it comes to image generation, it's not progress? It creates a flawed product. Its utility is when mediocrity is acceptable, it provides a cheaper alternative to hiring an artist. You can have anyone with eyes and who understand photoshop to touch up the results for far far cheaper than hiring an artist to create quality work. You're downgrading for soulless results. Not to mention how hideously uncanny the imagery can often be at its worst. This linear portrayal of progress just to lazily insult people who criticize the misuse of AI tools is quite tired.
