Re: No Undo?

when you're learning the game you might not know the consequence of your action until you are already in sequence, which also makes some of the confirms totally pointless because you can't back out from the action anyway. Like I think one was I bought water first, realized that I didn't want to reveal a card and would have liked to take yeast first so i had the possibility of buying something revealed but couldn't undo, even though I hadn't revealed anything.
This is an interesting one I havent thought about
I also didn't see a confirm button when I accidentally clicked the wrong thing in the market.
I've seen several people say this, but every market purchase is a two click thing: 1) click the card, 2) click the confirmation button with the cost. Can you explain the disconnect to me?

Agree - undo button is very helpful to new players. They may click 'confirm' without knowing the consequences of their decision until after realizing they bought the wrong thing. Undo is beautifully implemented in Pax Pamir and Ark Nova, and if in the cases where undo is unavailable (like getting a card from the deck), it tells you this cannot be undo'd.

Not having an undo is more painful to new players, and I believe Paverson Games intention with this BGA implementation was to get new players into the game. My two cents.

There was no undue for purchasing a basic market item. I had mother mary and should of discounted it but I guess I forgot to click it. Just noticed there's an auto discount option which sounds nice but would probably prefer a confirm when I realized I paid 2 instead of 1. Really messed up my turn :(

Well tried that auto discount feature, pointless, it discounts stuff that's even 0 money. There's another game totally messed up.

Undo with preview is strongly needed. Especially when playing via phone, on which it is difficult to browse the interface.

Yeah this game seriously needs an undo feature. How do we get one?

Bumping this up, though it disappointingly seems like it doesn’t matter. It’s extremely frustrating to fat finger the wrong basic market item and not be able to fix it. There is absolutely NOT an undo for a basic water.

Defo needs an undo. The mistake most developers and game designers make is that player know all the rules and nuances / permutation. However, even experienced players may only figure out a nuanced rule by playing the move with undo potential. Once I thought buying a recipe was enough to get the label/goal bonus; another time incorrectly understood an equipment ability. Led to no distilled that round etc.

Summary: undo is the antidote to rule clarifications and faq: you just try it and see!

I agree, this game really needs an undo. If you do one thing wrong, you've messed up the entire game. The games are that close! I've seen other games have an undo where the other party needs to accept. This is probably more feasible in a two player game, but even with 4 players, make all players have to agree to the undo. This is one of the first digital implementations where not having an undo makes the real game better. Whoever designed this did an amazing job, I love it and play all the time, but an undo would really make it shine and extremely more approachable for newbies. And also better for people like me who make stupid mistakes more often then I want to admit.

I just want to say, for a first time, this game is excellent! One of my favorite games on BGA and the solo mode also must not have been easy and I appreated the effort it must have taken. How much effort does coding something like this take in let's say man weeks?
