Readability of the game board

Post by lolo6666 »

Hello, thank you and congratulations on the adaptation of Kamon.

However, in the original game, the placed pawn replaces the symbol/color, making it disappear. Thus, only the available choices remain visible.
Here, the adaptation simply surrounds them. All symbols/colors therefore remain visible, greatly disrupting the game.

Since Kamon has already been adapted for other platforms, the solution was to highlight the possible choices after the last pawn is placed.

This was just for information, as it's an excellent game by Bruno Cathala. But not being able to clearly distinguish the constructed trajectory can really hinder the flow of the game.

Congratulations again for what you've done.

A lighter background and greyed out used tiles would make it easier. I have a hard time seeing the black on the purple background.

Completly agree with you concerning readability of the board
I pointed it many time during development but... it seems that my opinion is not that important

It's not too late to make it better ! (and it's so easy..)

I feel as though orange and yellow look a little too similar, especially on mobile, during one's own turn owing to the darkening of the board tiles not eligible to be selected next... Makes planning multiple moves ahead a little visually uncomfortable imho... Anyone else thinking similarly ?

I thought the exact same thing. I have made a couple of calculation errors due to thinking that a yellow tile was orange or vice versa

Be careful what you wish for...

Looks like an update, and now the possible next moves are circled in white, making them look very like the hexes claimed by white already. I'm a new player and am still getting used to the game overall, so I'm sure I'll adjust quickly enough. But it doesn't seem like the best solution.

This update really makes the game readability much worse. It's very hard to differ possible moves from white's occupied gexes and see white chains. Please mark possible moves with some neutral grey, or change decision at all! This realization is awful!
