Yesterday the tournament was still on the list and almost full, but today it is not on the list, what happened?

Make sure the checkbox "Show full tournaments" is checked.

I created a tournament a couple of hours ago, and suddenly when I checked on it the status had changed to finished. I didn’t cancel it. Is this a bug or did an admin close my tournament or something? https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=379180

I can't see the minimum number as it gets hidden once it's ended, but I'm guessing you set it at more than 9 players, and only 9 signed-up.

No, the tournament wasn’t set to start yet. The minimum was 48, but then it was a bug that caused the tournament to start early. I think the bug was the fact that I set registration to open at a time in the future, and then manually opened registration. When that time came, I think it progressed the state of the tournament but because registration was already open, it started it early instead.

This is pretty weird, I don't see any reason the tournament would be listed as "ended" when it's more than a week before the start time. I created another tournament with similar settings, just to see what happens. Feel free to register: https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=379736

I was able to replicate the bug and it’s caused by what I described earlier. You have to start the tournament, and open the registration. Then go into Edit configuration and change the “Registration Starts” setting such that registration is set to open at a future time despite the registration already being open. Then, when that time passes the tournament automatically switches to finished.

Can an update to tournaments please include not allowing players that the host blocked to join the tournament?

Along the same lines, can tournaments respect the preference to not match players who have blocked each other if possible?

You can host an invite-only tournament if you want. What you can't do is say a tournament is "open, except for people I don't like."

This is unworkable in pretty much every format, especially round robin and Swiss. Even in single elimination, obviously you can't just skip over a later round match just because someone has red thumbed someone else. Even in the first round, adhering to this would disrupt the seeding process.

There could be safety reasons why someone has blocked someone else, and these should be respected.

They are respected in a private tournament. That blocked person cannot enter without an invitation.

And you didn't respond to my explanation of why blocking someone being matched with someone they've red thumbed in a tournament doesn't work. If you think it can work, then explain how.
