Considering the number of participants to each serie, the first 6 players of each serie are qualified for these semifinals.
No, no, no, no, no.
This is absolutely unacceptable. How can the official rules change midway through? If you had said that roughly top 20% of each series qualifies, so be it.
But you said 20 and then change it to 6, AFTER the event. This means terrible disappointment and bad PR for BGA and CGE, for the majority of participants. I'm a big fan of both, but this leaves a sour taste. I don't feel like getting membership nor buying any more CGE games.
It makes zero sense. Less participants should mean MORE people are acceptable to the next round, since you have extra capacity. I understand that you want to maintain a higher level, but you cannot do it like this, changing the rules in hindsight. What if the top 6 don't take part (they forget or are unable to)? Then you will have just a handful of people in semis.
Imagine if after a Formula 1 qualification with just 10 cars out of 20 taking part, they would change the rule so that only the top 3 make it to third part of quali, AFTER the second quali has been already raced. It could never happen.
The other thing is: Unless the glitch that makes the timer 5 minutes (rather than 30) is fixed, all games are void. Anyone can click a button to either win or draw unlawfully. Everyone gets flagged in each game for going overtime, unfairly. This is unacceptable.
You need to recognize that the tournament is a huge failure on every level, and reorganize it from scratch, so that things actually work AND it caters for any number of participants without ever changing the rules in hindsight.
The fact is, the top 20 qualify, and you cannot just say 'sorry, we lied, it's 6 now'. No matter what you thought you were doing, that's disgraceful and makes the tournament meaningless.
