I booted RR when I had 101 points. My sequence is:

- Protected Valley +2 points
- Convert 2 plants +2 points
- LHT to Fish +2 points
- Greenhouses +1 point on Decomposers
- Convert +2 points
- Take Fish +1 point
- Take Small Animal +1 point
- Take Livestock +1 point
- Final conversion +2 points

That's 115 points, not 111 (plus I get another point below).

Rook was booted with 91 VP and 57 MC. His best line is:

- Ecosystems, 47 MC +4 points
- Mangrove, 37 MC + 4 points (but it gives me 1 point)
- Power Infra, 47 MC
- Sell 4 cards, 51 MC
- SP Greenery, +3 points
- SP Greenery, +2 points
- Final conversion, +3 points

So the final score is 116-107. Not particularly close.
Whoops. I forgot to add your point for decomposers, and I forgot to look at your blue action cards, which give 3 more points; that is how I came up with 111 instead of the correct 115.

Rook has a sequence that gets him to 107 without needing to put Mangrove next to your city; so, the "official" final score with both players playing optimally would be 115-107.
Putting it next to my city also puts it next to his own, so that’s not the difference (it’s point neutral). I don’t see how he gets to 107 without that. Feel free to correct me where I’m missing something. He can play Heather and put Mangrove off to the side, but this is just worse than taking the plant + point on Mangrove, skipping Heather, then picking up the plant with his SPG.

Antigrav +3 pts. 44 MC
Use power Infrastructure. 54 MC
Std Tech 51 MC
City on the volcano spot with the titanium bonus, next to commercial district. 31 MC, +1 pt.
Mangrove on top left ocean, 24 MC, +3 pts, Ecozone +1 pt.
Advanced Ecosystems, 16 MC, +3 pts, ecozone +1 pt.
Heather, 13 MC.

(Almost enough money to do a standard project city top right for one extra point, but I think it is one dollar short.)

Anyway, with Heather, now there is a post-game greenery next to both cities, +3 pts, and Herbivores, +1 pt.

16 points gained, 107 total, without putting a greenery next to an opposing city.

(If there has been that one more dollar, the extra city would have been worth 2 points, since Pets would have gained 2 more pets in the process.)

In that sequence, standard tech ends up not being worth it, since it was 3 to play instead of just selling it for a dollar, but I was trying to find a sequence that used more than one std project.

So, if it were sold instead, along with Mohole, that makes 15 MC left for potential tiebreaker purposes, which of course it unnecessary with the final score being 115-107.

He has only 4 science tags. Anti-grav is not playable.

Oh, whoops. My fault.

Dang, and here I thought I had found a clever play.
So, you are correct. His line for 107 results in your having an extra point.

If he indeed could play AGT, he could improve on your line by 3 points and score 110. Exact same line as the one I proposed for 107, but with AGT starting. SPCs are just bad when he has SPGs with Herbivores. The key is to not play Heather by putting Mangrove on 1 plant next to his city and SPG on one plant.

good catch -

Yeah, I was trying to get fancy with the city next to the commercial district, setting up a good spot for Mangrove and another greenery next to the 2 cities. Oh well. Almost.

Yeah I agree if hands are open I lost, but you don't know what I have in my hand and with card draws and animals and large cash reserve there are lines that I could win instead of standard projects. I said ggwp. I have a trip coming up but will be back on Wednesday let's give the people a show.

There is pretty much no realistic line with 4 science tags that’s going to win you here. I’ve seen most of the cards you have looked at too, so there is a limit to how good your hand can be. The SPs are super efficient with Herbis and open cities. That’s 46 MC for 8 points plus you get Ecosystems and Mangrove. Despite that insanely efficient line you’re still losing by 9 points. Very easy to see that I’m winning even without seeing your cards.

I’ll send you a request on Wednesday.

It may well be the case that with only 5 (?) cards remaining, there did not exist any scenario that could result in a winning sequence.
Especially with the opponent (Corvus, in this case) likely knowing some of those 5 cards.

You know how realistic you could have won? By playing it out, my man. Have you calculate the fact that you could have made mistakes like passing in advance or failed to convert your final greeneries? Game 3 is up so glhf. I will be out from 14th to 18th, so don't skip me please.
