Classic excuses on a lost game. Man, just admit it and stop that.

Man, I always thought a winning position was when I have a sequence that wins not to count on multiple errors of my opponent in the final few moves to actually have a glimpse at a chance of winning ... ;)

Corvus Mortis wrote: 06 July 2025, 21:46 There is pretty much no realistic line with 4 science tags that’s going to win you here. I’ve seen most of the cards you have looked at too, so there is a limit to how good your hand can be. The SPs are super efficient with Herbis and open cities. That’s 46 MC for 8 points plus you get Ecosystems and Mangrove. Despite that insanely efficient line you’re still losing by 9 points. Very easy to see that I’m winning even without seeing your cards.

I’ll send you a request on Wednesday.
You know how realistic you could have won? By playing it out, my man. Have you calculate the fact that you could have made mistakes like passing in advance or failed to convert your final greeneries? Game 3 is up so glhf. I will be out from 14th to 18th, so don't skip me please.
No, because I knew the line I was going to take before I booted you, which is why I played things in the order I did. So no I didn’t have to consider this.

Well, when playing from behind in TfM it is often the case that the ONLY way to win the game is to take advantage of errors committed by opponents. You absolutely can anticipate these errors, their likelihood, and how they can be exploited ahead of time. In some cases you can even bait these mistakes out from opponents and it will be the ONLY mathematically possible way to win.

A clever bait into capitalizing on a mistake can be a pretty satisfying way to win from time to time.

I will mention that my success rate attempting this against Corvus over the last 5 years is 0%. He don’t fall for those bluffs and I’ve tried em all for science.

Hard to prevent your opponent from seeing their line when you don’t make a move for 48 hours. 😅

I‘ve won countless games from behind counting on opponent‘s errors and being right about those. I was just replying to Rook‘s rather ridiculous post after Corvus has laid out what he was going to do, which was undeniably winning.

Lol, Rook gun Rook.

🤷‍♂️

My point was mostly that, of all the opponents possible to try such a tactic against, this is the opponent least susceptible to it in the first place. Kinda shooting oneself in the foot in a sense.

You could have just send me another invite and start another one while I was away instead of kick me in a turn based 2p and lose a complete game. You can't figure that out that's on you, you had the winning position. I would not kick someone like that unless at the very end of an arena season, because it's pointless.

The game was over, you stopped moving. I could see from your game queue that your account was about to start tanking Elo because you weren’t moving on several games — though you were still making progress on Arena games. Why should I have to wait for your account to lose 100+ Elo before collecting my locked win? I didn’t send you another invite because it was unclear to me why you stopped playing in our game and not others — perhaps you didn’t want to play again.

Oh you were just going to collect some extra Elos, that's not worth it, I just don't care for that, I treasure game logs between us more, next time just give me the benefit of doubt, I just wasn't available.

Game 3: https://boardgamearena.com/10/terraform ... =698474983

Game 4 Vastitas Borealis is up: https://boardgamearena.com/6/terraformi ... =701313790

For G3, I feel like it wasn't worth it for you to fight for estate, it gave me so much, it's the same mistake I made in game 1, should have just go desert instead. Gg. I am flying out tomorrow morning will be back Saturday. You had early earth cat, maybe gave me adv eco for Mar U and keep conference. What are your initial post game thoughts?
