It's also not high variance and even less the complete opposite. Otherwise you wouldn't have players averaging 80% win rates.
You also overestimate the importance of the opening hand. There are not that many 10/10 and 1/10 hands. It rarely happens that the game is over from the start. Ofc drafting would reduce variance here, which is a good thing, but decision making and skill is far more important than the opening 10.
I agree that while Frylexus (spelling?) may not have meant this game to be primarily 2p, it definitely interests many (most?) of us for 2p player games. I think the game feels a bit too much 'solitaire side by side' when you play 3p and above, and of course there's plenty of 'kingmaking' with attack cards etc. .

At the risk of sidetracking an already mediumly side tracked thread; which other games like T mars (so heavy euro? resource management?) have you all found to be good for 3p? 4p? I think the only 3p I have played (I think it's here in BGA) that seems balanced and low kingmaking is Puerto Rico (need to have the optional rules enabled, craftman's angst etc. etc. ).

Gotta love it when posts along the lines of "X is overpowered" devolve into each person posting their favorite corp to lose to.
Saw this in Wingspan recently where if you listen to the forum, 90% of the cards should be banned.
Maybe we should all just play with the starter corps, keep it even for everyone.

Anyway, Polyphemos OP, pls nerf.

No, just no.

Point Luna is one of the weaker corporations in TM. If you are lucky you can draw about 8-10 additional cards. Which is good, but not game breaking. At the same time you start with a distinctive disadvantage in starting money.

There are several online databases covering win-rates and Point Luna, while not doing badly, is far from being even in the top 5.

Filtered to 2p Preludes + Arena, Point Luna is in 5th place with 54% win rate on https://www.tfmstats.com/corporations (this is BGA data). If you only turn off Colonies and keep everything else, it's in 2nd place. It's also the most played corp, showing that it's very popular.

I am not sure how well it did in Steam data pulled, but I think some of the big Steam players just played without prelude corps quite often.
