Additional GAME TITLE possible (for Search Engine)

Post by ArenaRTer »

This game is well known in Germany (Netherlands etc.) as:

Skip-Bo

It uses a special, different card set. But the game play is 1:1 the same as Spite and...

Actually, a Skip-bo deck is equivalent to a 3-deck pack.

Twelve 1-12 cards = Four A-Q per playing card deck
Eighteen Skip-bo cards = Six wilds (four Kings and two Jokers) per playing card deck

You can select 30 goal card option to play more similar game.
Also, Skip-bo cannot be implemented due to the license issues.

That’s why I tried to work around this by my translation of the game description:

English original:
„Also known as Cat and Mouse or other commercial names, Spite and Malice is a traditional card game for two or more players.“

German translation:
„Spite and Malice, auch bekannt als Skip-Bo oder unter anderen kommerziellen Namen, ist ein traditionelles Kartenspiel für zwei oder mehr Spieler.“, so people should be able to recognize it as the same game mechanic.

I also added a comment:
„Im deutschen Spielmarkt als "Skip-Bo" vertrieben, während "Katz und Maus" ein anderes Spiel ist“, refering to the German market, in order to avoid misinterpretation.

That's a good idea! Does it work in the search engine? Then I might try to create a similar Dutch translation!

I'm afraid it doesn't.

Ok, that is a pity. Then it would not help people who are looking for Skip-Bo to find Spite & Malice instead.
