This isn't a rant - I'll do that elsewhere
.
This is for anyone who likes to play friendly, turn-based over a long period of time.
You need to be aware that the game might get abandoned by the system.
This is what happened to the turn-based game I was play with my son.
We started the game on 1/March/25 and we dip in and out with turns - mainly due to job commitments.
Our game was 'abandoned' by the system unexpectedly last week as it was judged to have no activity for 40 days.
Reasonable, you might think except for two things:
1) no warning was given beforehand - in fact I had received the daily email status that day, stating it was my turn and there was no time limit for it.
2) The last activity was 24 days ago. However, it looks like it only considers completed turns as activity.
It appears it was 40 days since the last full turn was completed, so it abandoned the game.
So in effect, I could have done my airstrike that morning, and the game would still have been abandoned.
I am currently liaising with support to see if they can resurrect it - they are saying no.
