Subscribe confirmation requests

Post by Matteo L »

When you subscribe to a tournament BGA asks a confirmation, reminding that you are engaging to play all tournament matches.
It would be better if this message was enriched saying the number of contemporaneous (!) games you are engaging to play, and the time limit settings.
I'm struggling to finish games in a tournament that required to play 10 games at the same time, with 24 hours per player without any bonus time after each move, and without any night interruption.
It's a crazy formula, IMHO, anyway for sure I would not have subscribed if it was clear to me before starting (I'm losing reputation for repeatedly going out of time, obviously)

Yes, it's a common complaint that round-robin tournaments, by default, have all games start simultaneously. There ought to be a pop-up warning at the time of registration (applicable both to tournaments of mode round-robin, and tournaments of mode "groups" where the first phase is round-robin).

You said that the warning ought to say the number of simultaneous games the entrant will have to play, but that isn't possible because it depends how many people sign up to the tournament.
